Stormwater Management
Stormwater isn’t just runoff—it’s an opportunity to protect ecosystems, reduce flooding, and improve the places where we live and work. At HRC, we help you take a proactive, sustainable approach to managing water resources. Our integrated solutions are built to handle today’s environmental demands while preserving the landscape for tomorrow.
From watershed planning to stream restoration, we combine engineering precision with environmental responsibility—so you get systems that perform, comply, and conserve.
You need more than a quick fix. We deliver stormwater strategies that balance technical performance with long-term impact.
We create comprehensive watershed plans tailored to your land, water systems, and future development needs.
Looking for low-impact solutions? We implement features like rain gardens, bioswales, and permeable pavements that blend with the environment.
We design detention and retention systems to manage stormwater flow and protect your infrastructure.
Need help with MS4 permitting or environmental regulations? We’ve got you covered—from planning to documentation.
We support your outreach efforts with education programs that build community awareness and buy-in.
We rehabilitate natural channels to stabilize banks, control erosion, and improve habitat quality.

Project Spotlight
HRC provided stream restoration, wetland enhancement, and water quality improvements for the Benz Creek Drain at Huron Hills Golf Course. Flowing through eight fairways, Benz Creek had become disconnected from its natural floodplain, resulting in recurring flooding and periodic golf course closures. The project included the relocation and restoration of 970 feet of a meandering wet meadow stream and the creation of bioretention areas to provide stormwater management. The project reconnected the creek to its floodplain, allowing stormwater to disperse naturally during high-flow rain events. These improvements reduced flooding and streambank erosion, enhanced water quality, and created healthier natural stream habitats.
We help you develop and maintain resilient systems that support environmental goals and public needs.
