Waldon Road Paving Project
Designing Solutions for Safer, Smarter Travel
HRC designed and provided as-needed construction assistance for the Waldon Road Project for the Road Commission for Oakland County. The project involved paving a two-mile section of gravel road, widening the roadway to accommodate shoulders, adding a single-lane roundabout at the Waldon Road/Clintonville Road intersection, improving drainage, realigning a section of the road, relocating a stream, and installing new curb and gutter. In addition, pedestrian and bike facilities were upgraded on a section of the road, and ADA sidewalk improvements were made. This project eliminated two sharp 90-degree turns within an S-curve, resulting in significantly enhanced safety and increased mobility on this principal arterial roadway.
